Education futures + learning how to learn

This week is our final one for the year in New Zealand high schools and I’ve been doing some reflection tasks. In a discussion about this, a colleague of mine, Matt said he was using the “Salad Bowl Game“, which I had played at family parties with the names of celebrities but quickly realized what a great idea it was for subject-specific revision or vocabulary boost.

There are many slight variations in regards to time limits and order of turns. I give each team 3 minutes while the other team watches. Matt plays one minute each team until the bowl is empty. You can decide times and turns what work best.

The link above has more description but here’s my quick summary.
